| Chattisgarh is India's most backward state. The state has suffered under decades of negligence from government authorities and continues to do so. The geography of the place is covered by dense forests and mountainous landscape making it an extremely difficult terrain for development activities. So much so, the government has notified that many villages would not get electrified since it's difficult to provide grid connectivity under such harsh geographical conditions.
It is in this background that Tata BP Solar undertook a project alongwith Chattisgarh Renewable Energy Development Authority (CREDA) to join hands in the development of this backward state. After the success of their first project in 2002, Tata BP Solar and CREDA came together again to initiate an even bigger change that could change the lifestyle of a tribal. The project aimed at electrifying villages using Solar Power Plants.
The scope of work included Construction of Control Room (RCC ), Mounting of Solar Modules and Laying Cables, Control Panels & PCU and complete Installation and commissioning of the Solar Power plant.
Tata BP team overcame each of the challenges and became successful in electrifying more than 350 villages in one of the remotest regions of Chattisgarh. This mega project successfully empowered more than 100,000 people in the tribal state and brought electricity to thousands of households.
