Solar water heaters at world famous Tirupati temple

The temple town of Tirupati is located at the foothills of Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateshwara. Believed to be the second most visited religious centre in the world, the Tirupati Venkateshwara Temple attracts around 60,000 pilgrims every day. Providing them all facilities to make their pilgrimage a unique and rewarding spiritual experience is the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) trust.

Tata BP Solar designed, installed and commissioned a 64,000 litres Per Day (LPD) solar water heating system for the TTD. The system comprising of 516 Solar Collectors will benefit everyday over 2,500 pilgrims who take bath at TTD's temple complex. The TTD is also a direct beneficiary from this project and saves 2,500 kW per day !

Before Tata BP Solar installed its Solar Water Heating Systems at the Temple Complex, pilgrims were dependant on electric geysers for hot water. These geysers were switched on for a limited period of time and had put pilgrims to a lot of inconvenience. The Solar Water Heating Systems for Tata BP Solar have successfully solved the problem by providing hot water to pilgrims almost round-the-clock!
